Parenting is hard! And the calling to make disciples of our children can seem daunting. Did you know that a parent’s own spiritual journey plays an essential role in the spiritual development of their child? At OHC, we want to encourage and equip all parents in their personal faith walk, and partner with you by providing practical tools and growth opportunities as you guide the next generation to follow Jesus moment by moment.

WHAT WE OFFER AT OAK HILLS CHURCH

Parent groups are small communities of parents (with children of all ages) gathering regularly to share life together and apply God's Word to real-life family situations. Gatherings typically include prayer, fellowship, Scripture study, accountability, and hospitality. Groups meet anywhere we live, work, learn and play. COVID-19: Most groups meeting online during COVID-19.

Parent classes consist of 15-150 people gathering for the primary purpose of learning about parenting in practical ways through a biblical lens. Classes meet for a defined period, typically 4-12 weeks. Classes are topical, follow a curriculum, and include teaching, group discussion, and self-directed learning (homework). COVID-19: Most classes will be online only during COVID-19.

Parent events are one-time special event opportunities for parents with children of all ages. Parent events include Parent Talks, Parent Connection Zooms, and Recharge: A Parent Conference. Events are based on topics relevant to biblical parenting and include guest speakers who specialize in that topic. Parent events are held both online and in person.

Family milestones are opportunities where the church partners with parents to encourage the next generation to know and follow Jesus.

In a society that’s riddled with broken homes, loneliness, and isolation, Jesus, through his death, extends hope and invites us into a brand-new family. Care communities exist for those recovering from addictions, struggling to maintain purity, carrying post-abortion guilt, and learning to set boundaries. Care communities also exist for those walking through life as a single parentor facing other life issues. Call us at: 210.698-4620.

Stewardship and Finance
Our hope is for every follower of Christ to be free of financial obstacles, that we might owe no man anything, but to love him (Rom.13:8). Resources toward financial freedom include Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, Career Transition Workshop, and various seminars. Call us at: 210.698-4620.
