Update July 21st, 1:30 PM

Please join us in praying for those impacted by CV19 and for AR leadership as we discern when to return back to the building for in-person worship services.

Update July 6th, 9:05 AM

As a result of the continual increase of COVID19 cases in our area, after much thought, prayer, and deliberation we've made the difficult decision to postpone our return to building date of July 12th. This was not an easy decision but one that is best for our congregation and for our surrounding neighbors. As you're well aware, we are in a rapidly changing environment and will keep you up to date via our website, email, and social media regarding our updated return to the building date. Please continue joining us online for Sunday services at 10:00 and 11:30 AM.

Update June 25th, 2:40 PM

We are excited to return to our building for Sunday worship gatherings on July 12th! Please visit our website here for more information about some of the guidelines and protocols we’re implementing to ensure a safe and meaningful worship gathering for all. We’ll also release an informational video in the coming week.

We're also keeping close tabs on the increase of CV19 cases in our area. With that in mind, we continue to error on the side of caution and wisdom and hold July 12th return to building date open handed. We'll be in touch - check your email, social media, and our website for updates.

Update June 11th, 3:30 PM

With wisdom and prudence as our guiding principles, we’re coming back to the building for Sunday worship service soon!!! Tune in to our online worship service this Sunday to hear when!

Update June 4th, 3 PM

We’re making progress!

Our staff, like many of you, have been working from home during the COVID19 pandemic but we're returning to the building on Monday! The building will remain closed to non-staff at this time, which is a celebration (!!) and evidence that we’re making progress towards the "next normal" phase of our church.

My hope is to have a solidified date of returning to the building for Sunday worship services within the next week or so. Stay up to date via our website, your email, and social media. And for those wondering, we’ll continue to stream our services live for those who’d prefer to worship from home during this time.

-Dan Snyder, Executive Minister

Update May 13th, 12 PM

Below is the text from an email sent to the Alamo Ranch community on the above date and time. If you did not receive the email please contact us here

Greetings! We likely haven’t met but I’m Dan Snyder, I've taken the place of Jorge San Pedro as the new executive pastor at Oak Hills Church – Alamo Ranch. I'm working under the leadership of Pastor Sam Gonzalez and we want to make sure we provide you with updates on a weekly basis. These are no doubt odd circumstances to start a new pastoral call but I’m so grateful to be here and working with our incredible staff and leadership team.

I’ll be sending a weekly email while we’re all dealing with COVID-19 restrictions. I hope this information is helpful for you and will help each us feel a bit more relationally connected until we’re worshipping together again in our building.

I don't want to take for granted that you know we're streaming two online worship services at 10:00 and 11:30 AM each Sunday. We have three ways you can watch the service but the easiest is to join us by clicking here on Sunday morning! See you there.

Immediately following this weekend's online worship services, you’ll be able to join us in a virtual small group on Zoom. We’ll spend 20 minutes discussing the sermon together. It’s a great way to stay relationally connected with our church community so please consider making this a priority!

You’ll need to have the Zoom app downloaded to your computer or smart phone prior to service to join us (don’t worry, it’s free and easy!). If you have questions on how to set this up at your house, please feel free to call me and I’ll walk you through the set up: 210-698-4654.

As we've thought about the best ways to disseminate information to many of you about COVID19, we’re committed to passing along updates, in the following ways:

(1) Our website is the main platform for current and new information. All new information will be posted on our site first. If you’re wondering if we’re meeting, how to join a Virtual Small Group, how to watch online worship service – visit our site!

(2) Weekly communication. As I said, I will continue to send this email out each week. We’ll also record a video update and post that on our site and social media platforms each week.

(3) Social media. For those of you on Facebook and Instagram, please find us and follow along for updates.

(4) Sunday Online Worship. We’ll announce any important information about the life of our community via our Sunday Online Worship services so be sure to tune into those messages for updates.

That’s a good question. The short answer is, I don’t know. We have an Alamo Ranch Back-to-Building Task Force that is working hard to assure we’re doing several things: (1) staying in touch with local and national governmental leaders, (2) staying in touch with Oak Hills Church leaders, (3) thinking, praying, researching ways to assure our building is a safe environment to worship together without putting any of us in harm's way.

I ask that you be gracious with others and with us as we are working to find a solution that works best. Please, if you haven’t already, consider praying for our return to the building and all the decisions that need to be made to do so in a wise and safe manner.

Update May 7, 2020 - 2:30 PM

We are still working towards best practices for when we gather again at our building. Nothing beats worshipping together in person, right!?

In the meantime, we're thrilled to announce that we're launching virtual small groups as part of our online Sunday worship experience starting this Sunday. We'll be using Zoom to host these groups. Here's what you need to know:

Please have the Zoom app installed on your computer or smart phone (visit Zoom and download, don't worry it's free and simple!)

Tune into the online Sunday service HERE

At the end of Pastor Sam's messages, you can join a virtual small group on Zoom!

See you Sunday!

Update April21 2020 - 9:30 AM

We have heard from some who are looking forward to gathering again and we are too! We want you to know Oak Hills leadership is prayerfully and intentionally considering how and when to begin gathering again for worship. We are in regular consultation with our city leaders and other churches, seeking best practices for when we gather again. We want you to know we will prioritize your health and safety when we do gather. Please pray for our leaders as we seek guidance and God’s direction. We will continue to update you here and through social media.

Update March 13, 2020 - 3:36 PM

As most of you are aware, the mayor and the City of San Antonio have announced a public health emergency and a ban on any gatherings of 500 persons or more. While we understand churches may be technically exempt from this order, the mayor and his office are strongly encouraging all organizations, including churches, to comply. Oak Hills Church leadership desires to support and affirm our city leaders, therefore, we have determined to do the following:

All on-campus weekend worship gatherings are suspended until further notice, beginning this weekend. We will continue providing an online worship experience at Alamo Ranch during regular service times: Sunday 10 am and 11:30 am. You can join us at ohcalamoranch.online.church.

All on-campus ministry activities at all of our locations have been suspended regardless of size for the foreseeable future (Bible studies and classes, Preschool classes, etc.)

Ongoing updates will be provided here and on Facebook & Instagram
